In September, Island Overseas Transport Corporation was established to man Showa Line vessels thru SLE.
Established Eastgate Maritime Corp. to cater to manning of vessels with mixed nationalities.
Inaugurated IOTC House at Bicutan; Housing dormitory and training facilities.
Provided all Filipino complement for newly-built Cape-Size Vessels of Showa Line Ltd.
Transferred to its new offices at Eastgate Centre, a 10-storey building owned by Eastgate Group of Companies
Merging of NYK Line and Showa Line with NYK as the surviving entity.
In June, adopted Quality Management System and certified by DNV under the Rules of Crew Manning Offices.
June, Commenced Manning contract with Hachiuma Steamship Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK Line.
Established its corporate name with the NYK Group through Hachiuma Steamship Co., Ltd., as a leading supplier of competent Filipino seamen for cape-size vessels, with the Delivery of MV "ONGA", A 230,000 DWT bulk carrier manned by an all Filipino seafarers.
Showa line Eng'g Co., Ltd., was dissolved. All manned vessels were transferred to Hachiuma Steamship Co., Ltd.
Established representative office in Tokyo.
In March, opened a recruitment office in Iloilo City.
In September, upgraded its Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2000 Standards.
Established Eastgate Maritime Training Center as a separate corporate entity.
Established Recruitment office at Kalaw St., Malate, Manila.
